Rialto Fall Wine Classes


Build your wine knowledge with Patrick Dubsky, Rialto wine director, in his wine series that leads a blind tasting comparing classic European wines with their California counterparts, gives the must-know guide to selecting holiday wines and explores California’s interpretations of Rhone Valley favorites. Classes are fun, relaxed and include six to eight wines and small bites created by chef Jody Adams.

October 4th
Old World vs. New World: A blind tasting of classic wines

Can you tell a French Pinot Noir from its counterpart in Oregon? Patrick will challenge you in a blind test to decipher which of several classic wines is from Europe or America. Afterward, Patrick will reveal and discuss the varietal and origin of each and explain their differences.

November 8th
It’s Party Wine!

Every year there are new deals on undiscovered wines that taste like gold medal winners, but cost no more than your average bottle. Whether your goal is to pair wines with an intimate dinner or host a cocktail party for 100, Patrick will give insiders advice on finding wines that work, for less than you’d imagine.

Is the California wine industry a worthy rival for the world-renowned Rhone Valley? In this class, Patrick explores several of California’s best winemakers and their interpretations of traditional Viognier, Roussane, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre wines.
